8. Yakult

Yakult is a sweet drinkable probiotic yogurt that is extremely popular in Asia, and is now beginning to make in-roads in North America. Watch the funny commercial below.

7. Jarrow

Jarrow says they are the number one selling probiotic in North America. And this is something I believe, because whenever I go into whole foods, I always always see this product…and often use it while traveling.

6. Dr. Mercola’s Complete Probiotics

Dr. Mercola is one of my favorite people in the health space; he meticulously researches all of his material, and uses all proceeds to further fund the dissemination of health information. He takes no profits for himself, outside of his practice.

5. Bio-K+ Probiotics

This is one of the oldest probiotics companies around. They are extremely well regarded and have been making high potency products since the 70′s. My only criticism of them is their products generally contain too much sugar and some people don’t react well to them. I prefer their rice based culture over their soy/dairy versions.

I’ve personally met a distributor for this product and they have some company funded studies that show the efficacy of the Bio-K+ products. They’ve also recently created pill versions of their probiotic.

4. Udo’s Choice Probiotics

These guys have some great probiotics. Udoe Rasmus is an old school company with strong values.

I’ve taken their refrigerated probiotics and have found them to be quite potent!

3. GT’s Kombucha

This is one of my favorite probiotic products. While it’s not very powerful, I swear this fermented tea is addictive!! This probiotic drink is great after a heavy meal.

Even Lindsay Lohan drinks it!

2. Garden of Life Raw Probiotics

Garden of life Raw Probiotics are relatively new to the probiotics game. But they are creating some of the most potent probiotics available. They have also found a way to create blends that have more than 30 different probiotic strains.

1. Renew-Life

I believe Renew-Life is the best probiotic brand out there. Brenda Watson has created a full line of probiotic supplements for men, women and children of all different needs, and of varying potency. They are the best around!
